Vicente Peña
Agrícola San Antonio
Vicente Peña, Manager of Agrícola San Antonio, oversees a 240-acre citrus operation in Pichidegua, O'Higgins region. The orchards, established between 2016 and 2018, include 197 acres of Fukumoto and California Red Navel oranges and 43 acres of Mesina lemons. The farm uses Roubidoux rootstock, which is uncommon in Chile due to its complexity, as it is both dwarfing and highly productive. Irrigation is managed through a double-line drip system, with DropControl providing irrigation control and weather stations supporting climate monitoring.

Water extraction

We’re very happy with WiseConn and invite other farmers and entrepreneurs in this industry to install DropControl, because it is truly a very good solution.
We now know exactly how much water we consume and where, down to the equipment and irrigation sectors.
DropControl is so user-friendly that even our field managers, who previously didn’t use smartphones, quickly adapted and now program and monitor irrigations from their phones.

By irrigating our crops at the right times and with the right frequency, only what is truly needed, we’ve increased our production over the last five years, going from 60,000 lbs/acre in adult orchards in 2018 to 75,000 lbs/acre.
