Avoamerica Chile
Under the leadership of Agricultural Manager César Chávez, Avoamerica Chile manages two avocado fields spanning 3,707 acres of Hass avocados. Our fields, planted in 2010 and 2020, are located between the Valparaíso and O'Higgins regions. We utilize advanced technology, including a drip irrigation system with double and triple lines, DropControl irrigation management, CDTEC humidity sensors, and climate monitoring.

With WiseConn's DropControl technology, we've seen major benefits that help us meet our company's goals. Not only have we achieved significant cost savings and better crop management, but we've also upheld our commitment to sustainable water use, which is key for our certifications
Managing the irrigation of over 3,707 acres of avocados is a significant challenge, especially with clayey soils, high-salinity water, and limited availability during certain periods

At our Bucalemu farm, a remote location far from major cities means labor is scarce. This challenge was compounded by our old manual irrigation system, which required 85 irrigators to operate 65% of the field. Additionally, our heavy soil makes precise irrigation critical, as any mistake can lead to waterlogging, causing rapid stress and decay in our avocado trees.
By implementing a 100% automated irrigation system, we overcame these issues. As a result, we have reduced our need for irrigators from 85 to just 45, proving the system's vital importance and efficiency.
Once fully automated, the results were immediate. We successfully reduced our irrigation team from 85 to just 45.
