Scheduled irrigation and monitoring
WiseConn gives me the ability to monitor and control my irrigation remotely, which is a huge advantage. It’s like having an extra set of eyes on the vineyard, and it’s made managing water and vine health much more efficient.
Project Details:
- Crop Type: Wine Grapes
- Location: Napa, California
- Irrigation System Type: Automated Drip Irrigation
- Need: Advanced control over irrigation scheduling, soil moisture monitoring, and environmental data for optimal grape quality
Project Goals:
- Remote irrigation control for precise water management.
- Real-time data to improve decision-making and vine health.
- Environmental protection from frost, heat, and other risks.
- Sustainable practices to align with regulations and long-term vineyard success.
The feature I value most is the real-time information and the abolity to act quickly. For instance, if a forecast predicts 90s but suddenly temperatures spike in th 100s, I can respond immediately— like turning on misters for cooling. With the app, it’s all done in under 10 minutes.
Results:
- Environmental protection through timely alerts for frost, heat stress, and other risks, safeguarding the vineyard.
- Efficient water use supports sustainable farming practices and helps comply with local water regulations.
- Time savings from streamlined vineyard management, allowing Roy to focus on winemaking.
