We don’t over water, we don’t under water, we water just right.
Project Goals:
- Strengthen water efficiency under reduced allotments
- Support sustainability goals with accurate field data
- Maintain productive orchards through drought conditions
- Automate irrigation for consistent water application
Results:
- Achieved more consistent water application during peak demand periods
- Gained accurate soil moisture and flow measurements for better decision making
- Improved water use efficiency during drought and allotted reductions
- Maintained healthy crop performance even through a recent 14 day water shutoff
- Expanded the system based on performance and reliability
During drought years, our water allotment can drop up to 60%. Automating our mostly drip orchards and getting precise crop measurements is a huge benefit.
