Before incorporating technology, water management at Agrícola El Cerrito was done manually and in a fragmented way, with irrigation houses isolated from each other and without an integrated view of the system. Facing the need for reliable information on the real water usage, they took the step towards a platform that would allow them to visualize the complete cycle of the water resource: from its entry, use, and return to the system.
Today, thanks to the implementation of WiseConn, they can monitor in real-time how much water enters the property from the canals, how much is used, and how much remains stored in the pond network. Furthermore, they carry out real-time water transfers, which has resulted in a concrete and efficient solution for their operation.
A key advancement has been the ability to show the community, with data, the volume of water they return to the Río Claro and subsequently to the Puclaro Reservoir, demonstrating transparency in their management.
Another important benefit has been the integration of CropX soil moisture probes, which can now be used directly in DropControl thanks to its Marketplace functionality.
Today we can demonstrate with data how much water we truly use. The technology helped us organize and make our operation transparent.
