In previous attempts to leverage technology, Cran Chile relied on solutions offered by various companies that claimed to be effective in these types of metrics, but with little success.
Most often, sensors developed problems from one season to the next, communication systems failed, and repairs could not be carried out with the required speed, especially during the cranberry plant's growth periods.
In other instances, it was also evident that the data provided by the sensors did not correspond to reality, leading the company to make erroneous decisions.
All these issues, combined with the poor quality of after-sales services from companies offering precision agriculture solutions, led to a loss of confidence among Cran Chile's team dedicated to implementing and utilizing this technology.

All of the farms currently use WiseConn's DropControl solution, which collects data locally and manages it centrally. This topological design improves decision-making for both the IT department and the agronomy specialists.

This has allowed the company to significantly reduce the margin of error in the planting, cultivation, and harvesting of cranberry plants. This directly translates to a reduction in costs related to spoilage, operational expenses, and problem-solving time. Furthermore, incorporating this type of technology has enabled specialists to make far more accurate and efficient decisions. The entire process, from planting to harvesting, is now performed with a failure rate of approximately 1%, which is well within the acceptable management and operational margins for this type of agro-industrial activity.
